As of July 1, 2023 The San Diego Museum of Art & The Museum of Photographic Arts merged to become one unified institution via Balboa Park. Established in 1974 and officially opened in 1983, MOPA is one of the few museums in the United States solely dedicated to the collection and conservation of photography. Its primary objective is to inspire, educate, and captivate a diverse range of visitors by showcasing and safeguarding photography, film, and video. Thomas J Price: Beyond Measure

Thomas J Price is a British artist whose work challenges societal attitudes towards power and value by amplifying the visibility of marginalized bodies. His first comprehensive solo exhibition in the US, 'Beyond Measure', features a new series of sculptures in bronze and marble. The sculptures are 9 to 12 feet tall and represent unfixed identities that reject social or racial profiling. Price's multidisciplinary practice seeks to break down preconceived notions and create a more inclusive world.

Bob Marley: One Love Experience

Basquiat: King Pleasure

Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure is a very special exhibition, it is the first time a show has been presented from the families perspective. The exhibit showcases hundreds of never or rarely seen works from the families collection. Basquait was a multidisciplinary artist expressing his message through paintings, drawings and multimedia presentations his full arsenal is on display. One of the biggest surprises would be a recreation of his studio and childhood home. With 4 separate rooms, make sure you have plenty of time to explore… but for now enjoy the gallery below! Dallas Museum of Art

Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) was established in 1903 and is among the 10th largest museums in the USA. Located in the arts district of Dallas, this museum encompasses more than 24,000 pieces of art from all cultures & time periods. With so much real estate DMA is able to host events, lectures, concerts, exhibits all while preserving the main global gallery. This portrait depicts Dallasite Sam Feldman, friend of Basquiat. He painted Sam F in 1985 on a door while staying in Dallas with the Feldmans.
